In short

  • We only keep what the features need: Discord IDs, your library, listening history and settings.
  • We never read your messages, record voice channels, sell your data or show ads.
  • You can download or delete your data at any time from My profile.
  • The website only uses cookies needed for login and your language choice.

1. Who we are #

Jammy is a free music bot for Discord with a web dashboard. It is run by an independent operator and is not affiliated with Discord Inc. In this policy, "we" means the operator of Jammy, and "you" means anyone who uses the bot or the website.

For the personal data described here, the operator is the data controller. You can reach us using the contact details at the end of this page.

2. Information we collect #

Depending on the features you use, we process the following information:

  • Discord identifiers: your user ID and the IDs of the servers, channels and roles the bot works with. These are numbers Discord assigns to accounts and servers.
  • Website login: when you log in with Discord we receive your username, display name, avatar and the list of servers you are in. Your email address is never requested.
  • Preferences: the language you choose with /language or on the website.
  • Listening history: for every song started, the server ID, the ID of the person who requested it, the title, artist, link, duration, source and time. Songs added by autoplay are stored without a user ID.
  • Your library: favorites, playlists, playlist names and cover images you upload. Uploaded images are re-encoded, which removes hidden metadata such as camera details or location.
  • Games and progress: music quiz points, correct answers, games and wins per server, plus the levels and badges you have reached.
  • Server settings: DJ role, music channel, default volume, 24/7, autoplay, vote skip, control panel, music quiz and server language.
  • Queue backup: while music is playing, the current queue and who requested each song are saved so playback can resume after a restart.
  • What you send to the bot: search terms, links and playlist links you ask it to play or import. Audio files you attach to /play are streamed from Discord and are not stored by us.
  • Technical logs: error messages, which can include a server ID or user ID, so we can find and fix problems. For our staff, the bot also logs the commands used (user ID, server ID and options) and the servers it joins or leaves (name, ID, owner, member count and a temporary invite link) in a private channel of our support server. In our support server, moderation actions (warnings, timeouts, kicks and bans with reasons) are recorded and kept even if you delete your data, to keep the community safe.

3. Information we do not collect #

  • We do not read or store the content of your messages.
  • We do not record or store voice or audio from voice channels.
  • We do not ask for your email address, password or payment details. Login is handled by Discord.
  • We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and we do not build advertising profiles.

4. How we use information #

  • To provide the service: playing music, queues, settings, favorites, playlists and the web dashboard.
  • To show statistics, profiles, levels, badges and leaderboards in Discord and on the website.
  • To choose similar songs for autoplay and to find lyrics and artwork.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix errors.

Where data protection laws such as the GDPR or Turkey's KVKK apply, we process data because it is necessary to provide the service you ask for, and for our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure, reliable and improving it. We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal effects on you.

5. Cookies #

The website only uses cookies that are needed for it to work:

  • Session cookie: keeps you logged in for up to 7 days. It holds a random key, and only a one-way hash of it is stored on our side.
  • Login state cookie: protects the Discord login against forgery and is deleted after a few minutes.
  • Language cookie: remembers the language you chose, or the one picked for your country on your first visit, for up to one year.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of. If you block cookies, logging in to the dashboard will not work, but the rest of the website does.

6. Sharing and third-party services #

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data for marketing. To work, the bot sends some information to these services:

  • Discord: the bot runs on Discord, so everything it does passes through Discord.
  • Music platforms (YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Deezer, Apple Music): your search terms and links are sent to find and play music or import playlists.
  • LRCLIB (lrclib.net): song title, artist and duration are sent to find lyrics.
  • Artwork lookups: song links may be sent to Spotify or SoundCloud to fetch cover art.
  • Hosting provider: stores the servers the bot and website run on.
  • Error alerts: technical error reports may be sent to a private Discord channel that only the operator can read.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

7. How long we keep data #

  • Your library, history, quiz scores and preferences are kept while the service runs, until you delete them.
  • Website sessions expire after at most 7 days, or when you log out.
  • Queue backups are deleted when playback stops.
  • Technical logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.
  • IP addresses are kept in memory for about a minute to limit abuse and are never written to disk. On your first visit, the country of your IP address is looked up on our own server (no outside service, using GeoLite2 data by MaxMind) to pick the website language; neither the IP nor the country is stored.
  • Server settings and statistics remain if the bot is removed from a server. Server owners can ask us to delete them.

8. International transfers #

The service uses providers such as Discord and our hosting provider, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

9. Security #

We use HTTPS, store session keys only as one-way hashes, limit how many requests can be made, apply strict browser security rules and re-encode uploaded images. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and will act quickly if a problem occurs.

10. Your rights and choices #

  • Download your data: log in and open My profile > My data > Download my data to get a JSON file of everything stored about you.
  • Delete your data: My profile > My data > Delete my data removes your favorites, playlists, cover images, quiz scores, levels, badges, preferences and sessions immediately. Your listening history is anonymized so server statistics stay correct.
  • Correct or change: rename or edit your playlists and change your language at any time.
  • Object or ask questions: contact us if you want to object to how we process your data or exercise another right.

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or KVKK Law No. 6698 (Turkey) give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, port and object to the processing of your data. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We will answer requests within the time the law requires.

11. Children #

Discord requires users to be at least 13 years old, or older where local law requires it. Jammy is not intended for anyone below Discord's minimum age, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

12. Changes to this policy #

We may update this policy when the service changes. The date at the top always shows the latest version. For important changes, we will also announce them on the website or the support server.
